Dr. Mary Norton, Ph.D

Mary Norton welcomes clients at the Taking Flight International office, using an art therapy approach. Mary is a graduate of St. Stephen’s College’s art therapy program and completed Taking Flight’s Trauma Recovery and Grief Support programs. She has worked as a community adult educator, with a special interest in addressing the impacts of violence on learning. In addition to her Spirtually Informed Post Graduate Certificate in Art Therapy, Mary has a Certificate in Counsellng Women (Athabasca University) and a PhD in Education (U of A). Karin Stewart, BSci, BA Lit,  MPS

Karin Stewart is a psychotherapist with a masters degree in Psychotherapy and Spirituality (MPS) from St. Stephen’s College in Edmonton. She also holds certificates in Trauma Recovery and Grief Support from Taking Flight International Corp.

As a landed immigrant to Canada and a former refugee, Karin has extended personal and professional experience in walking alongside and supporting marginalized, displaced, and/or traumatized people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

Karin welcomes clients at the Taking Flight International office using modern psychotherapeutic approaches that are relational and insight oriented. She is also knowledgeable in a number of problem solving techniques such as the narrative, cognitive-behavioral, and solution focused approaches. The modern approaches are complemented with more spiritual-oriented approaches such as guided visualizations, energy transfer work and therapeutic art.
